With only 3 ingredients you can whip up this delicious vegan chocolate sauce in just one minute! Make this recipe thin and drizzly or thick, like a ‘Nutella’ texture. I love serving this on porridge, fluffy pancakes or drizzled over a foamy plant-based milk cappuccino.

This mini recipe is perfect when you’re craving something sweet for breakfast but don’t have anything in your cupboards like vegan Nutella or Biscoff.
I know you will love this super easy chocolate sauce if, like me, you are a CHOCCY MONSTER!
As this chocolate sauce ‘recipe’ is SO simple with just 3 ingredients, I’m not even sure it qualifies to be a ‘recipe’. I love making this thick, like a paste, and thin to drizzle over my porridge. Just go with your mood and make it up how you like it! As long as you add the milk last after mixing your other ingredients you really can’t go wrong.
It literally takes a minute to make this super simple chocolate paste. So it is super easy to prep it while you wait for your oats, pancakes etc to cook.
Read till the end for a HOW TO on how I get my dairy-free milk SUPER FOAMY for my cappuccinos!
Serving Suggestions:
Pancakes:
I used Tasty Vegetarian’s ‘The Fluffiest Vegan Pancakes’ recipe – read HERE!
Porridge:
Cappuccino
It’s more common to have a cappuccino with just a sprinkle of cocoa powder/ hot chocolate powder dusted on top but if you feel like indulging add this super-rich dark choc sauce on top!
To make dairy-free milk foam:
TOP TIP: Use a vegan ‘barista’ milk or go for a carton of milk from the fridge section in the supermarket, as these seem to foam better than the long shelf life alternatives!
By hand –
1. Heat the milk in a mug in the microwave and then pump it using a cafetière for 1 minute. After you have almost doubled the volume of milk in your cafetière, bang the jug on the table a couple of times to get out the large bubbles (you only want the microbubbles to get the SMOOTHEST foamy milk for your drink), then swish the jug round in clean circles 5ish times to get the foam nice and shiny. Then pour over your coffee or espresso shot. If you are using instant coffee granules, mix them with some of the hot milk to resemble a ‘shot’ of coffee before adding your foamy milk.
Electric (recommended) –
2. Having an electric milk frother is a GAME CHANGER. Luckily my coffee machine that comes with on the side which is super handy for making foamy coffees, matcha lattes and hot chocolates.
I’d recommend an electric milk frother to anyone who loves hot drinks.
For a more affordable option have a look for an electric handheld whisk. I have used these in the past, before I had my espresso machine, to make super foamy milk for coffee and hot chocolates.
You can also use these handheld milk frothers to make Dalgona Coffee – check out my blog post on Dalgona (AKA Cloud) Coffee HERE.
