This post is about the viral TikTok trend DALGONA COFFEE aka cloud coffee.
The new whipped coffee trend is so thick that my mum honestly thought I’d put ice cream in the coffee!
What is Dalgona Coffee?
”Dalgona coffee is a beverage made by whipping equal proportions of instant coffee powder, sugar, and hot water until it becomes creamy and then adding it to cold or hot milk”

Having appeared on the scene in 2020 after going VIRAL on TikTok, the Dalgona, aka Cloud Coffee, has made rapid appearances across the internet.
Dalgona Coffee uses whipping to create a cloud-like, thick foam consisting of instant coffee, sugar and water.
Not a fan of coffee?
You can also make Dalgona style drinks using some flavoured milkshake powders, such as Nesquik Strawberry Powder!

To make the Dalgona coffee you will need:
- 2 tbsp instant coffee granules
- 2 tbsp white caster sugar
- 2-3 tbsp cold water
Make in 3 Simple Steps:
1. Add all of the above to a small bowl.
2. Whisk for 5 mins with an electric whisk or forfeit your entire week to whisk by hand… you decide.
(I made my coffee – pictured – using an electric whisk. It takes ~20 minutes of whisking by hand so I would recommend an electric whisker!)
3. Add your coffee whip to cold plant-based milk and ice.
…Then hide from your family so you don’t have to share it!
Worried about too much caffeine?
I was too!
However, after experimenting I realised you can get the same fluffy results using decaf coffee granules.
The coffee pictured in this post was made using decaffeinated coffee!
