Self-dubbed the ‘Sunday Experience’, roast dinners served by the Owl and the Pussycat are definitely phenomenal. For London-based vegans near Shoreditch, this joint is a great place to enjoy a vegan Sunday roast without a real joint of meat.
Despite feeding both carnivores and herbivores, the vegan options are impressive. You can opt for a delicious vegan nut roast for your main course, but there is also VEGAN MAC & CHEESE available as either a main or side dish (umm… yum!).
And if you’re craving something sweet, why not indulge in the dark chocolate and orange brownie on offer?
Plus, the Owl and the Pussycat is blessed with a lovely pub garden for you to enjoy a vegan or veggie Sunday roast out in the sunshine.
Bull & Gate – Kentish Town

The Bull & Gate in Kentish Town is a cosy pub setting with a musical past.
The pub was formerly a music venue in the 1980s and hosted a range of indie bands such as Oasis, Blur and Nirvana. Nowadays, the pub no longer hosts musicians but welcomes Londoners on the hunt for a delicious plant-based roast dinner.
Wise vegans who make it through the doors of Bull & Gate will find two incredible options for a Sunday, including a chestnut & lentil nut roast and a seitan wellington. Can I hear your stomach rumbling?
Prices are high-end, but the atmosphere of the pub provides a great setting to enjoy a vegan and vegetarian roast dinner. The food is sublime, and the quantities are excellent.

Situated in fabulous Angel, the Old Queen’s Head is by far my favourite pub in London. I am still in awe of the incredible decor found inside and out. There are emerald green tiles, busts, pillars, and mahogany wood ceilings — it is truly a spectacle.
The vegan and vegetarian Sunday lunch option is a delicious mushroom wellington served with glazed carrots, curly kale and smoked gravy. The prices are mid-range and are very reasonable for this incredibly homely plant-based Sunday roast. Check it out!
